![]() Is it worth it ? That's up to you - watch some of the game play on YouTube and see. If you want to, the "Sinking Simulation" could be considered as a game, but it's still only you on the ship. another reason it takes so long, looking for TITANIC related items and floor plans.Īlso before I forget, BRITANNIC is a walking/museum simulator. This is supposed to be "within 98% or better" accuracy. There's several historians, who've dedicated their reputations, in some way, shape, or form. They are not going to rip you off with a poorly made, over-priced version of TITANIC. They're trying to get the money to pay for the TITANIC: HONOR AND GLORY game. ![]() That's why they released BRITANNIC: PATRONESS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN and have the 1/400 models and other goodies in their store. They don't have an investor to help with the game. They still have the NPC to work on and the game programming. Titanic: Honor and Glory aims to re-create the entire Titanic inside and out, from the hull and promenades to every saloon, boiler room, and cabin. The ship will be fully explorable in a rich and detailed 3D environment with the highest level of accuracy yet achieved with Titanic. As of now (2020) they have about 80% of the TITANIC ship complete. It does, however, affect some areas to a degree, like the stem where the thinner plating is riveted to the stem bars.Been following since the beginning. It's a fun detail that people would probably never notice, but's there. Since each plate has to be extruded one by one, it's virtually no extra time to quickly check the plating plan and enter the needed value when extruding. These thicknesses are reflected in the model. The real plating had varied thicknesses mostly ranging from 1 inch amidships to around 0.75 inch towards the ends of the ship, with some bottom plating being thicker still. One small tidbit: I'm actually extruding each plate to its thickness according to the 400-1 shell plating plan. Many plates along the upper hull will also need holes cut, but that's for a later time. Additional steps later will include fine adjustments once the surrounding plates are there, a final round of smoothing, and adding materials, along with other steps as needed, like UV mapping. Add additional smoothing/divisions and bevels to each plate. Extrude each segment to the thickness needed. Extrude some edges to account for overlaps with other plates. Separate the single strake segment into individual parts for each plate in that strake. Deleted extra vertices that resulted from earlier hull mesh smoothing. Kyle has been working hard on improving the hull which has been needing an update for. There were 0ver 1500 people still on board the mighty ship as she slowly sank, and for over a century, people have seen recreations of that tragic night or films dedicated to the Titanic herself. Apis a day that will always live in infamy as the day that the biggest ship in the world, at the time, the RMS Titanic, struck an iceberg, then slowly sank into the iceberg-filled waters of the North Atlantic. Add cuts along curved areas of plating/hull as needed. WORK CONTINUES on both the THG Alpha and Demo 401 Pictured here is our new keel and stern frame for the Alpha. Titanic Sinks in Real Time: Video from Honor and Glory Game. Adjust as needed to fit previous row of plates. The process for each plate is roughly: Separate section of hull mesh constituting a strake or row of plates. Overview Don't mind the modern human, purely for scale purposes. It's still not perfect and the plates I've extruded still need a tiny bit of work, but it's very satisfying to see the plating take shape like this. I've started with the innermost plates along the bottom, strake "B" to be exact. With the plating strakes plotted out and translated to the hull mesh, I've already begun to extrude the hull plates, one strake, one plate at a time. This is how all forward-most plates connect to the stem. ![]() Note the nearest plate and how it sharply curves to connect to the steam bars which it overlaps.
